Rutherford County Dive Rescue Team
MISSION STATEMENT
The purpose of this team is to provide
emergency medical treatment or recovery to victims involved in waterborne incidents
requiring prompt, professional, efficient, effective, and safe access by team personnel
and extraction of the victims from the incident site with medical treatment carried
out until the arrival at the appropriate medical facility. To provide underwater criminal
investigation, salvage and recovery of victims and/or objects from crime scene, and
provide safe handling of evidence and the chain of evidence before releasing to
appropriate authorities within the traditions of Rutherford County EMS and Rutherford
County Sheriff's Department.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Performing disaster related rescue
assistance when requested, to include swift water rescue
2. Performing underwater search and recovery missions involving victims, evidence
and other
property
3. The investigation of underwater crime scenes
4. Drowning and diving accident scenes
5. Performing certain search and recovery missions for no evidentiary property
6. Performing other waterborne missions
The Rutherford County Dive Rescue Team is
comprised of members from the Rutherford County Sheriff's Office and Rutherford County
