John served in the United States Army in the 23rd infantry Division and the 11th Infantry Brigade in Vietnam 1970-1971.  After returning home, he attended and graduated from Middle Tennessee State University receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in 1978.  While attending M.T.S.U., John began his law enforcement career under the late Sheriff Craig Snell as a dispatcher then moving on to patrol.  He is a 1978 graduate of the Tennessee Law Enforcement Academy.  John has served as the Assistant Chief of the Eagleville Police Department and later was elected as a City Commissioner in the City of Eagleville.   John became a civil warrants officer under Sheriff Truman Jones and returned to the Tennessee Law Enforcement Academy for additional training to start a Criminal Warrants Division in 1999.  Captain Frost is currently responsible for the Warrants & Records  Division which includes; Criminal Warrants and Records, Civil Warrants, a Violent Offender Apprehension Unit and numerous Criminal and Civil warrant officers and records personnel.
