Who We Are

The Rutherford County Emergency Communications District was established in May 1986 by referendum to provide quality, comprehensive enhanced 9-1-1 service to the residents in the cities of Murfreesboro, LaVergne, Smyrna, and Eagleville, and surrounding communities in Rutherford County.     The District is directed by Steve Smith and is governed by a nine member Board of Directors.  The office is staffed with a full time Administrative Assistant, MSAG Coordinator and 911 Operations Coordinator.  The office hours are 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.    The district maintains five Public Safety Answering Points (PSAP's)   , a self supporting Mobile 9-1-1 Emergency Communications Unit and an Auxiliary Public Safety Answering Point that can be used in the event of long term service interruption at a PSAP or the occurrence of a natural disaster.
