Rutherford County strongly encourages employees to be prepared for retirement. Rutherford County is a member
of the Tennessee Consolidated Retirement System. This retirement system provides a pension for retires. All general
fund full-time employees are non-contributory to the system. The County government provides this benefit to its
employees without out of pocket expense to the employee. The County contributes 12.91% of the employees salary
to this retirement system. Click on http://www.treasury.state.tn.us/tcrs/ for more information about this retirement system.
In addition, Rutherford County offers a deferred compensation plan (457b), similar to a 401k, allowing employees to contribute
additional funds towards their retirement. Nationwide Retirement Solutions administers the plan which is sponsored by the
National Association of Counties (NACO). For more information regarding the 457b plan and how you can participate please
