NOTICE OF ELECTIONS

DEMOCRATIC AND REPUBLICAN PRIMARIES
RUTHERFORD COUNTY GENERAL ELECTION
THURSDAY, AUGUST 3, 2006
Notice is hereby given that DEMOCRATIC AND REPUBLICAN PRIMARIES will be held in all voting precincts of
Rutherford County, Tennessee on August 3, 2006, for the purpose of electing nominees for the following Federal, State
and local offices listed below.
Qualifying petitions for the following Federal and State Offices must be turned in by 12:00 (NOON), Thursday,
April 6, 2006 to the Rutherford County Election Commission Office, #1 Public Square South, Room 103, Murfreesboro,
Tennessee. If appropriate, qualifying petitions must be turned into the Office of the Coordinator of Elections, 312 Eighth
Avenue, 8th Floor, William R. Snodgrass Tower Building, Nashville, Tennessee. Candidates must meet these
requirements in order to have their name placed on the ballot. Qualifying petitions for Independent candidates for
offices to be filled on the November General Election Ballot must be filed by this deadline. Any duplicate petitions,
which may be required, MUST be filed by this deadline, as are the originals. The deadline for withdrawal is Thursday,
April 13, 2006 at 12:00 (NOON). Withdrawal statements must be in writing signed by the candidate.

NOTE: Qualifying deadline for candidates running as Independents in the August 3, 2006 Rutherford County
General Election is April 6, 2006, 12:00 (noon).
REGISTRATION DEADLINE:
The last day to register in person for this election is Monday July 3, 2006. By mail registration forms must be
postmarked Wednesday, July 5, 2006 to be eligible to vote in this election. Registration forms received after the
deadline will be held and processed after this election. Individuals may register to vote at the Rutherford County
Election Commission, Department of Motor Vehicle, Department of Human Services or the Health Department, Register
of Deeds Office, County Clerk Offices or the Public Libraries within Rutherford County.
The last day to make alterations to your voter registration records like a name change or address change is July 28,
2006.
The Rutherford County Election Commission Office is located at #1 Public Square South, Room 103, Murfreesboro,
Tennessee. Office hours are Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. Rutherford County residents with
