AND POLLING HOURS

CITY OF MURFREESBORO

Notice is hereby given that a City of Murfreesboro Election will be opened and held in all voting precincts of Murfreesboro, Tennessee between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 20, 2004.

 

     NOTICE TO VOTERS:  PLEASE BRING SOME FORM OF IDENTIFICATION WITH YOU SUCH AS YOUR VOTER CARD, DRIVER LICENSE, CREDIT CARD, ETC., IN ORDER TO EXPEDITE THE VOTING PROCESS.

If you have been recently annexed into the City Limits of Murfreesboro you will be eligible to vote in this

Election.

 

If a registered voter is hospitalized now through 7:00 a.m. on April 20, 2004 and would like to vote, please call the Election Commission Office at 615-898-7743.

 

Poll officials have been notified and will report to work at their respective polling place at 6:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 20, 2004, in order to have polls open at 7:00 a.m.  Polls will remain open until 7:00 p.m.

 

The Absentee Counting Board will meet at 9:00 a.m on Election Day at the Election Commission Office, 1 Public Square South, Room 103, Murfreesboro.  Individuals assigned as an Absentee Counting Board poll watcher at the Rutherford County Election Commission Office will not be able to leave the premises until 7:00 p.m. when the polls close.  Election results will not be released until after the polls close.

                                              

NOTE:  The “write-in feature” on the MicroVote Infinity Voting Panel will be used on Election Day.

 

NOTE:  NEW LAW TCA SECTION 2-8-113 AND 2-7-133, JULY 1, 2003:  Any person trying to be elected by write-in ballots must complete a notice requesting such person’s ballots be counted no later than twenty (20) days before the election.  Such person shall only have write in ballots counted if such notice was completed and timely filed at the Rutherford County Election Commission Office.  Such notices may be completed by the write-in candidate at the Rutherford County Election Commission Office located at #l Public Square South, Room 103, Murfreesboro, Tennessee.

 

NOTE: Candidates shall furnish Poll Watcher Names and locations to the Rutherford County Election Commission, not later than 12:00(NOON) on the 2nd working day before Election Day by 12:00 (NOON) April l8, 2004, before Poll Watchers may be authorized.
