Rutherford County Drug Court Data:
-
473 people have applied to Drug Court.
121 have been accepted into the program. We have the capacity to serve 50
participants at one time.
-
44
people have graduated from the program.
-
Only three people who have graduated from
the program has been rearrested; so our recidivism rate is 12%.
-
The Rutherford County Detention Center
costs approximately $25,000 per year, per person vs. $5,000 per year for
Drug Court. As of February 2003, we had 17 graduates who were originally
sentenced to a total of 67 years in prison. By going through our program
instead of serving their time, this saved the Rutherford County Detention
Center $1,375,000.
-

-
7 participants have earned their GED,
and 5 are eligible to take their GED. Five are taking college courses
at either MTSU or Motlow.

participants have completed 340 hours of Community Service Work. This
has been completed at the Stones river Battlefield, Rutherford County
Animal Shelter, Room at the Inn, Rutherford County Library, the
Rutherford County Detention Center, Habitat for Humanity, Oakland
Mansion, and public works.
-
From July 2002 until February 2003, 77%
of our participants were employed .
-
We have had 6 drug-free babies born to
participants in our program and have four more on the way.
-
