To exchange a valid Tennessee license plate for a specialty license plate, please bring in current Tennessee registration and license plate to the Office of the Rutherford County Clerk.  The credit from the current license plate will be deducted from the price of the specialty license plate.  Please note that the expiration date of the new specialty license plate will be one year from the month it is issued.
