A. The regular session of the Rutherford County Board of Commissioners was called to order by Madam Chairman, Nancy R. Allen on Thursday, November 15, 2001 at 6:00 p.m. in the Courtroom located on the second floor of the Rutherford County Courthouse in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. B. Court Chaplain Trey Gooch led the Invocation. C. Commissioner Jimmy Woods led the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America. D. Twenty-one Rutherford County Board of Commissioners were present for the Legislative Meeting. E. The October 11, 2001 Legislative Meeting Minutes were adopted as typed.
F. RESOLUTIONS OF SYMPATHY 1. The Resolution of Sympathy in memory of Deward “Foots” Compton was adopted. 2. The Resolution of Sympathy in memory of Frances Hickerson Jackson was adopted.
G. PUBLIC COMMENTS 1. Ron Polk spoke with regard to the gender equity within high school softball and baseball programs. 2. Lenore Diamond spoke with regard to the Buchanan Sewer Project. 3.

a. A Resolution establishing policy with regard to burnt out houses in Rutherford County was adopted. b. A Resolution requesting an increase with regard to Building Permit Fees was adopted. c. A Resolution recommending that the average scale for all square footage fees of the March 31, 2001 Building Valuation Chart of the Southern Standard Building Codes be implemented was adopted.
7. STEERING, LEGISLATIVE & GOVERNMENTAL COMMITTEE

A Resolution requesting the State Legislature to continue sharing state

a. It was announced that the Smyrna Motor Vehicle Department building was in the process of being rebuilt in the same location as where the previous one burned. It was further announced that the office hoped to be operational in March 2002.
There being no further business, Madam Chairman, Nancy R. Allen adjourned the Rutherford County Board of Commissioners Legislative Meeting at 7:08 p.m.
